Mouth Cancer Action Month reaches around 60 million people each year helping to raise awareness about early detection and prevention of mouth cancer. During Mouth Cancer Action Month we are aiming to raise awareness of the disease to help increase the rates of prevention and detection amongst our patients and in the local community.
Early detection gives patients a 90% chance of survival. Delayed diagnosis means that survival rates drop to just 50%. Did you know that at every examination we check your mouth for any signs of mouth cancer? We do complimentary mouth cancer screening throughout the year, so if you ever have any concerns about possible symptoms in between your routine visits then please get in touch with us.
So what are the symptoms?
What are the possible causes of mouth cancer?
And finally, did you know that an estimated 56% of mouth cancer in the UK is linked to eating fewer than five portions of fruit and vegetables per day.So to help raise awareness of mouth cancer and to help everyone get their 5 a day we are giving away an apple a day to all of our patients throughout November.
