Finding a dental practice that can provide orthodontic treatment for your child can be a difficult and frustrating process with many practices having long waiting lists.
At the Orthodontic Centre, we aim to straighten your child’s teeth at a time when is most suitable for you and your child. We have abolished waiting lists because we feel that it is more important to provide orthodontic treatment at a time when is most suitable for your child in terms of their growth.
We provide all aspects of orthodontic treatment including metal and cosmetic braces, removable appliances and growth modifying appliances.
Why should your child have orthodontic treatment at our practice:
If your child has severely crowded teeth sometimes we need to remove teeth to create space to allow your child’s teeth to align. Teeth are sometimes removed at the beginning of treatment however on occasions we remove teeth after the first few months of treatment.
Our preference will always be to provide orthodontic treatment without having to remove teeth.
We will assess your child and advise you both accordingly as to what is the best form of treatment.
There are many factors that contribute in deciding when is the best time to start orthodontic treatment. For the majority the best time to start treatment is when all the permanent teeth have fully erupted and your child is about to have a growth spurt. This average age of starting treatment is between 12 and 15 years of age.
We will assess your child and advise you both accordingly as to when is the best time to start treatment.
