For some ending up with no teeth can be a prolonged and painful journey whereby they knew they inevitably would end up with no teeth in an entire jaw. For some having no teeth has been a lifetime problem and many struggle with dentures.
A full arch bridge supported on dental implants is a great solution for replacing an entire arch of missing teeth. We at the implant centre love being a part of the patient journey as it is great to see our patients regain their confidence in their smile and see them enjoying eating their favourite foods.
The example given is someone who had been fed up for many years with fracturing teeth and recurrent infections. They wanted a tooth like solution that would allow them to eat with confidence. After discussing the options they opted to have all their remaining upper teeth removed with them being replaced with a full arch bridge supported on dental implants. Several appointments involved planning and mocking up what the full arch bridge would look like. This allowed us to place 4 x implants their ideal position. After 12 weeks of healing we then made a full arch bridge that replaced 10 missing teeth. The patient was delighted with the final outcome.
For those who have gaps between their remaining teeth it can effect confidence when smiling and it can also be a problem when chewing food.
For some having a missing back tooth can affect their ability to eat their favourite foods. Being unable to chew food effectively through not having back teeth can impact upon your diet.
